One of the nation’s largest manufacturers of pontoon boats needed to have better visibility to its inbound supply chain. In addition, their supply chain team members were under heightened pressure to reduce transportation cost.
Our complementary needs assessment revealed the usage of multiple carriers, with most suppliers choosing which carrier to use. There was no centralized visibility to inbound shipments, or advanced shipment notices (ASNs) of products in transit. The company also lacked an auditing process to ensure accurate carrier pricing.
After completing an analysis of current carrier invoicing, we recommended the manufacturer engage our non-asset 3PL solution provider. Working with this provider they implemented an integrated approach to freight management that streamlined their end to end processes.
